Who's Buck?

Buck’s Ice Cream Place is named for Professor Wendell Arbuckle, an MU alumni and the man who funded an endowment in the late 1980s, allowing a renovation of the pilot plant, parlor, and transition in what the program focused on. His published dissertation: “A Microscopic and Statistical Analysis of Texture and Structure of Ice Cream” prompted researchers to move away from dairy research and into focused research on healthy methods for ice cream development.
